In this warrior play the much older nobleman "Sanemori" has a slower, more reflective dance than either "Yorimasa" or "Kumasaka". This mask is of the Jo type, a group of masks representing old men and which unusually have hair attached at the crown of the mask itself as well as moustache and beard in white hair, although the eyebrows, here concealed by a white headband, are painted onto the wood.
